Principal’s Message
Parents, believe it or not the end of the school year is right around the corner. The last trimester is a critical time for your child; in grades 2-5 students participate in standardized testing and all students are learning essential skills that will prepare them for the next grade level. It is critical that your child attends school daily so they will not miss out on learning time. Thank you for making your child’s education a priority.

Parent Survey
This year's Title I parent surveys are posted on the PSUSD website.  This year’s survey window was extended until Thursday, April 15, 2010. You still have time to complete it if you haven’t already done so. Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete the survey. Your input assists us when developing our School Plan for Student Achievement.

California State Testing
State testing begins next week. This will be an opportunity for students in grades 2 through 5 to demonstrate their knowledge. Our teachers have been working diligently all year to prepare their students. You are the most important partner in your child’s learning progress.  Please make sure your child gets to school on time and if any appointments are scheduled, please schedule them after school.  This way you’ll make sure your child doesn’t miss any part of the testing. Parents and families can help to create a positive test-taking experience and help students prepare for tests. Here are some ideas:

· Make sure your child is well rested and eats breakfast, either at home or at school.
· See that your child arrives at school on time and relaxed.
· Encourage your child to do the best work possible and to have a positive attitude.
· Encourage your child to listen to/ read carefully all test-taking directions and to ask questions if any directions are unclear.
· Remind your child not to get stuck on any one item.
· Encourage your child to check for accuracy.
· Each day ask your child how they feel the testing is going.
